چکیده
Distribution grids across the world are undergoing profound changes due to advances in energy technologies. Electrification of transportation sector and integration Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), such as photo-voltaic panels storage devices , have gained substantial momentum, especially at grid edge. Transformation technological aspects could directly conflict with existing distribution utility retail tariff structures . We propose a smart meter data-driven rate model recover network-related charges, where implementation these grid-edge technologies is aligned interest various stakeholders electricity ecosystem. The envisions shift from charging end-users based on their KWh volumetric consumption, towards them access fee that approximates impact end-users’ time-varying demand local network proposed incorporates two cost metrics affecting utilities (DUs), namely magnitude variability customer demand. can be applied prosumers conventional consumers without DERs. • Cost-causation Utility Rate Model for networks prosumers. Shift ($ per kWh) price impact. Suitable increasing Grid-Edge. Aligns Revenue Stability Cost-Causation. Ex-Post calculation residential bills real data.

متن کاملMeter Data Management for Smart Monitoring Power Networks
The electrical/power distribution and commercialization scenario is evolving worldwide, and electricity companies, faced with the challenge of new information requirements, are demanding IT solutions to deal with the smart monitoring of power networks. Two main challenges arise from data management and its smart monitoring of power networks: real-time data acquisition and big data processing ov...
متن کاملPrivacy-Utility Trade-Off for Time-Series with Application to Smart-Meter Data
We consider the online setting where a user would like to continuously release a time-series of data that is correlated with his private data, to a service provider in the hope of deriving some utility. Due to correlations, the continual observation of the released time-series puts the user at risk of inference of his private data by an adversary. To protect the user from inference attacks on h...
متن کاملEnhancing Observability in Distribution Grids using Smart Meter Data
Due to limited metering infrastructure, distribution grids are currently challenged by observability issues. On the other hand, smart meter data, including local voltage magnitudes and power injections, are communicated to the utility operator from grid buses with renewable generation and demand-response programs. This work employs grid data from metered buses towards inferring the underlying g...
متن کاملIdentifying Topology of Power Distribution Networks Based on Smart Meter Data
In a power distribution network, the network topology information is essential for an efficient operation of the network. This information of network connectivity is not accurately available, at the low voltage level, due to uninformed changes that happen from time to time. In this paper, we propose a novel data– driven approach to identify the underlying network topology including the load pha...
